Tesco is a British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer with headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom. It is the third-largest retailer in the world measured by gross revenues and ninth-largest retailer in the world measured by revenues. Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen as a group of market stalls. The Tesco name first appeared in 1924, after Cohen bought a shipment of tea from T.E. Stockwell and combined those initials with the first two letters of his surname. The company expanded rapidly, and by 1939 had over 100 Tesco stores across the country.
Tesco is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. It had a market capitalisation of approximately £28.4 billion as of 22 April 2015, making it one of the largest companies on the London Stock Exchange. The company was ranked at number three in the 2011 Fortune Global 500 list of the world’s biggest corporations.
In December 2013, Tesco announced a strategic partnership with Carrefour to create an international buying group that would source products from around the world for both retailers, helping them to compete more effectively with Amazon and other e-commerce retailers. I could not find any of Tesco online compliants form, but guss what?! The current CEO of Tesco is Ken Murphy. When he was 22 he was already the finance director of Alliance UniChem (part of Boots today) He was appointed to the role in October 2019. Prior to his current role, he was the CCO and president at Walgreens Boots Alliance..
If you have a complaint about Tesco, there are a few things you can do. First, as we mentioned, you can call their customer service number or send them a Whatsapp – i will just use that as sort of complaint form.
